Objective

Known among power tool enthusiasts as the “Cadillac of tools,” Milwaukee Tool requested an in-store display that would make a notable visual impact and effectively represent their brand. The goal was to attract brand loyalists and the traditionally male power tool purchaser.    

A corrugated hutch with shelves supported by metal bars provided a display that was both strong enough for Milwaukee Tool’s M12 and M18 lines of product while also providing the scalability to be reduced as product was shopped down.

Expandable headers flanked by graphic panels allowed this display to elevate the Milwaukee Tool logo while dramatic product imagery provided the sleek, high-end look needed to draw in potential buyers. Black side panels allowed red design elements to stand out, and Home Depot pricing and branding was kept minimal to direct focus to the product. Applying a cost-effective, direct print approach for the simpler design elements and a higher quality, litho print for the more intricate parts resulted in a well-balanced display.

In the end, the display provided necessary structural support, graphical impact and ongoing scalability—all within a limited budget. The client was very pleased with the final design, and the display was so successful with end-consumers that four more pallet train designs have been requested for completion in 2020.
