OMA Volunteer Information

The Shop! OMA competition cannot operate without the assistance and hard work of our volunteers. Shop! members can participate in two ways – as a marshal or an OMA judge.

How do I become a marshal?

OMA marshals are critical to the success of the OMA program. They assist the entrants in setting up their entries in the correct area for judging. It is strongly encouraged for volunteers to be a marshal for at least a year before becoming a judge.

How are judges selected?

Judges are invited to participate based on their experience, previous Shop! volunteer experience and commitment to the industry. All OMA judges are required to be members of Shop!. OMA judges come from brands, retailers, producers and agencies.

Can I volunteer to be a Creative or Budget/Display of the Year judge?

Creative and Budget/DOY judges are selected based on their past participation and continued dedication to the OMA contest. They are selected by invitation only.

Do volunteers receive anything for their time?

All marshals and judges receive a ticket to the Shop! Awards Celebration. Judges and marshals will receive badges that allow access to the Globalshop floor. Shop! encourages volunteers at any time, but to receive a Globalshop badge a volunteer needs to let Shop! know by mid-February 2017.
